‘TRIALS BY FIRE’ BY DWIGHT DUKE @ CHRISTINA’S RESTAURANT

(Show runs May 21 – June 29)

Local island visual artist Dwight W. Duke will debut his new works titled “TRIALS BY FIRE” at Christina’s Restaurant.  This new body of work – a departure from his past sculptures and paintings is created entirely with FIRE, using strategically placed GUNPOWDER and artillery fuse on paper, canvas, glass, and Venetian plaster.  An ode to the beauty of a potentially destructive force, this is a new way of viewing the (controlled) effects of the element of fire. You can visit his website and view his sculptures and paintings www.dukestudio.com.

‘chalk is cheap: urban quirks’ @ peter C. Fisher Gallery

“Chalk is Cheap: Urban Quirks” is the title of Peter Fisher’s photography exhibit. “If you don’t have a sense of humor, it won’t be funny,” says the artist (quoting clown Wavy Gravy) about these conceptual images and visual puns. Fun for the whole family! Exhibit continues through June.
